Guard your gaze.
A shield for your gaze, your attention and your time. One tap closes the door on harmful sites and endless feeds, across your whole phone, for the sake of Allah.
How it works, honestly
No magic, no middleman, nothing hidden. Here is exactly what happens when you turn the shield on.
A shield that lives on your phone
GazeGuard raises a local shield on the device itself. There is no remote server in the middle and your traffic is never routed through anyone's computer. It is the same trusted approach used by respected open tools like NetGuard.
Harmful doors are answered with silence
When any app asks where a harmful site lives, GazeGuard checks the request against a list of more than 186,000 known sites, kept right on the phone. If it matches, the phone is simply told the door does not exist. Everything else passes through a family safe resolver that also enforces safe search.
Feeds are paused, not deleted
A separate accessibility guard notices when Reels, Shorts or TikTok open and calmly steps you back out. Apps you choose to block open a still, quiet pause page instead. Nothing is uninstalled and nothing is broken.
It holds, even against you
Turning the shield off asks you to stop and confirm. The optional timer lock makes it impossible to turn off for 15 minutes to 3 hours. An uninstall lock can stop the app being removed in a weak moment. The urge passes. The guard stays.
All of it works offline
Blocking, feed pausing, the timer and Focus Lock are built to run with zero internet. The app only goes online for housekeeping, like refreshing the site list or syncing your progress.
Asked and answered
Is GazeGuard free?
Yes. The shield, the feed pausing and Focus Lock are free. There is no subscription and no account is required to use any of it. Signing in is optional and only keeps your progress synced if you change phones.
Can GazeGuard see my browsing?
Filtering happens on your phone. GazeGuard runs a local shield with no remote server in the middle, keeps no browsing history, and works with the internet off. Your browsing activity is not part of what the app sends anywhere. Read the full story on the blog or in the privacy page.
Does it slow my internet down?
No. Your pages, videos and downloads take their normal route. GazeGuard only checks the small lookup a phone makes when it asks where a site lives, and answers that on the device in a fraction of a millisecond.
What happens in a weak moment?
Turning the shield off always asks you to stop and confirm, and that pause is often enough. If you want more, engage the timer lock before the moment comes and the shield cannot be turned off for the time you chose, from 15 minutes up to 3 hours.
The optional uninstall lock also stops the app from being removed on impulse.
Does it work without internet?
Yes. Blocking, feed pausing, the timer lock and Focus Lock are all built to run with zero internet. The app only goes online for housekeeping, like refreshing the site list or syncing your progress.
Will it drain my battery?
No. The shield only inspects tiny address lookups, not your actual traffic, so there is no heavy work running in the background. It is designed to sit quietly for weeks.
Which phones does it support?
Any Android phone on Android 8.0 or later. iPhone is not supported. GazeGuard is currently a direct APK download while the Play Store listing is prepared.
Is this only for Muslims?
The app is rooted in the Quranic call to lower the gaze, and it does not hide that. But everything it does, guarding your eyes, your attention and your time, is for anyone who wants their life back from an internet built to take it.
